The Cyber Park: A Verdant Retreat Amidst Marrakesh’s Bustling Medina
Nestled in the heart of Marrakesh and adjacent to Jemaa El Fna square, Arsat Moulay Abdel Salam, affectionately known as the Cyber Park, sprawls across 8 hectares. This enchanting sanctuary seamlessly melds tradition with modernity.

Dating back to the 18th century, the original park was commissioned by Moulay Abdelsalam, the son of a Sultan. Over time, it evolved into a public park in the early 20th century, showcasing the architectural and landscaping prowess of yesteryears.
The History of Cyber Park: A Regal Legacy
The origins of the Garden of Moulay Abdeslam (Cyber Park) are steeped in rich history.
Established during the reign of Sultan Sidi Mohamed bin Abdullah (1710-1790) in the 18th century, Arsat Moulay Abdelsalam holds significance as a historical landmark. Legend has it that this Sultan was instrumental in planning numerous orchards and gardens across the red city.
It was customary for the Sultan to gift his sons with a residency outside the Kasbah upon their marriage, often encircled by lush orchards and verdant gardens. The Cyber Park, bearing the name of Prince Moulay Abdelsalam, was one such royal garden.
Prince Moulay Abdelsalam, a man of many talents including diplomacy, poetry, and literature, was the son of Sultan Mohamed bin Abdullah. He held the titles of ruler of Souss and adviser to the Sultan.
These gardens served as a wedding present from the Sultan to his son, Prince Moulay Abdelsalam.
Similarly, the Sultan bestowed another son, Moulay El Mamoun, with the Arsat of Moulay Mamoun, later transformed into the iconic Mamounia hotel in 1923.
